She was married to Francis Harrison BRADFORD on Oct 19 1953. Francis Harrison BRADFORD was born on Nov 7 1908 in Arbuckle, Ca.. He died on Nov 8 2005 in Berkley, Ca.. Francis had nicknames. "Brad", "Uncle Buster" and "Lo Lo", loved nicknames from his family and his dedicated loving caregivers. Brad's childhood was centered on a self supporting Arbuckle CA. farm and he related many memories of the farm. The family grew their own food, raised animal stock, and worked the land with horses and mules until the first gasoline tractors and automobiles arrived. Brad attended grade school at Arbuckle elementary school and high school at Pierce Joint Union High School in College City CA. where Brad was student body president during his senior year. After high school Brad attended Stanford University where he graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Brad's engineering career encompassed employment with Link Belt Co., Hall-Scott Motor Co. and Grove Valve and Regulator Co. A member of the Society of Automotive Engineers, Brad had a keen interest in automotive vehicles, power systems and new concepts and designs. His fondest work experiences were with the Hall-Scott Motor Co. a manufacturer of high performance gasoline engines used in rail cars, aircraft, trucks, busses and marine applications. At the time of his death, Brad had nearly completed his book on the history of the Hall-Scott Motor Co. The book will be completed next month and presented to SAE for publication by co-author Ric A. Dias, PhD History, U.C. Riverside.

Brad also maintained his interest in farming activity, working with contracted farmers in Colusa and Yolo Counties growing wheat, barley, hay and row crops on land inherited from his family. Brad was devoted to his family and grandchildren giving special attention to their personal and financial needs, and education. His greatest loves were his two wives, children, grandchildren, automotive engineering, farming and completing his book.

A celebration of life was held at Holy Spirit Parish - Newman Hall, 2700 Dwight Way, Berkeley CA. 94704 on November 30 2005.
