87. Don Jose Bernardo DEL CASTILLO was born on Jan 16 1884 in Albay. He was a Clerk in 1902 in Branch House in Legaspi of Gutierrez Brothers.⁽⁴⁾ In the Comercial Directory of Manila:1901, Jose del Castillo is listed as a Clerk in the Branch House in Legaspi of the Gutierrez Brothers, Importers, Exporters, Commission Agents & Consignees with Manila Offices listed at Beaterio Mo. 116, Telephone 152. This company was the sole importer of the well known White Cross Santander Beer, Lemps of St. Louis Beer and Cook Bernheimer & Company of New York Whiskies.
Jose Icsiar, who eventually married Maria Del Carmen -- Jose del Castillo's sister -- was also Clerk in Legaspi together with Angel Roco at the same firm. He died on Jul 16 1937 in San Juan, Metro Manila. Jose Bernardo died of cancer of the throat. He was buried in San Juan, Metro Manila.

He was married to Dona Mercedes Emilia Gomez BORRAS (daughter of BORRAS and Josefa GOMEZ) on Mar 18 1912. Dona Mercedes Emilia Gomez BORRAS was born on May 28 1890. She died on Sep 1 1961 in San Juan, Metro Manila. Don Jose Bernardo DEL CASTILLO and Dona Mercedes Emilia Gomez BORRAS had the following children:
